How to maintain your Wellis hot tub?

If you ever had a hot tub you know water care and regular maintenance is the most important part to be able to keep enjoying it for years to come.


Confusing and complicated it seemed the way to keep your water crystal clear, free of harmful bacteria. Wellis however, quickly solved this issue when came up with its environmentally friendly ALL-IN-ONE Solution WellisCrystal for the weekly maintenance and WellisCrystal SpaCleaner for the 3 monthly spa clean. They both simple and easy-to-use solutions to keep your water sparkling clean.


What do you need?


For the regular weekly maintenance: WellisCrystal All-in-One.

Instructions are included in the box and measures of solution is pending on the size of your tub. Everything you need is in the WellisCrystal All-In-One box.

General instructions are as follows: once a week (Sundays advised) add the all-in-one solution to your spa (measuring cup supplied). Put one chlorine tablet to the dispenser and put it into your spa. When chlorine tablet melts / 1 week later, add a new one into the dispenser. That’s it.


Weekly use: Chlorine Tablets.* These are included in the WellisCrystal All-in-one, but you can purchase them separately if needed. *If your skin is sensitive to chlorine use the WellisCrystal chlorine free all-in-one water treatment set.


Every 3 weeks: Water Check 5-in-one strips for checking the pH level of your Spa. Make sure the pH value always ranges between 7.2 and 7.4. If it’s too low or too high use the WellisChrystal Alkalinity Balancer to set it to the right level.


Every 3 months: Wellis Crystal SpaCleaner when you drain & clean your spa. It has been specifically designed for cleaning your pipes and your spa pool. It frees the lines in your pool from lime scale and contaminant residues.


Every 3 months: Wellis Crystal FilterCleaner when you drain & clean your spa.

Instructions to use:

- Take the filter out of the spa.

- Sprinkle 2 scoops of Wellis Crystal Filtercleaner over the filter.

- Place the filter into a bucket.

- Fill the bucket with hot water.

- Leave the filter in there for 1 to 1.5 hours to soak (turn filter around every once in a while).

- Rinse the filter with a water jet and re-install it with the spa.


How to drain and clean your spa?


Here is our simple step-by-step guide on how to maintain your Wellis hot tub to prevent residual or test water (for a new spa) contaminating the water.


Instructions for already installed (USED) Wellis spas


1. Add 0.5 liter of Wellis Crystal SpaCleaner to the spa’s water the night before you plan to refill it.

2. Make sure all jet nozzles are open and switch the pumps on at the highest level for 15 minutes.

3. Leave the water in the spa overnight.

4. Repeat step 2.

5. Let the water drain and rinse the tub with clean tap water. Let this last water drain as well.

6. Remove the filter and clean it with Wellis Crystal FilterCleaner. (Instructions above)

7. Fill the spa with clean tap water and re-install the cleaned or a new filter.

8. Check the pH value with a WaterCheck 5-in-one strip. Make sure the pH value always ranges between 7.2 and 7.4.

9. Apply the chlorine dosage unit with the chlorine tablet on the filter unit and heat your spa to the temperature requested (38 °C).

10. Start treating the water with WellisCrystal All-in-One solution (basic instructions above) as specified in the instructions in the box.

11. The night before refilling is scheduled (each 3 months), start the procedure with step 1.


Tipp: check your spa water’s pH value every 3 weeks.



Instructions for NEWLY installed Wellis spas


1. Fill the spa with tap water.

2. Add 0.5 liter of Wellis Crystal SpaCleaner to the spa’s water.
