David Wright our new Export and Sales Manager for the UK

Wellis’s new export and sales manager for the UK David Wright has been in the wet leisure industry for 20 years. He worked for all the leading spa manufacturers in his career, he knows the competition, has an incredibly valuable insight on how this business works in the UK, an experience which is hard to find.

Starting as a pub and restaurant small-business owner in the 90s, David decided to move into the sales field representing Pepsi and several frozen food companies.

He heard about Wellis Hot Tubs in 2003 not long after Wellis was founded. By that time, he was a Showroom manager at Hindhead Hot Tubs in Surrey for Spaform, the only acrylic hot tub manufacturer the UK had.

David worked there for 10 years – until Spaform went undone. There is no UK manufactured acrylic hot tub company since.

Then in 2011 David moved on to work with Passion Spas in the Netherlands as their Sales Rep. The company at the time was selling US products branded under Passion Spa, but when they started to manufacture in China David moved on too and stared to work for the Canadian manufacturer Arctic Spas as their UK Sales Manager. Two years later he got ‘headhunted’ by another Canadian giant Hydropool Hot Tubs and became responsible for their UK dealership. Two years later Jacuzzi bought Hydropool and David continued to work for them until decided to take a year break to be with his family. The European manufacturer Wellis found him in December 2019.

What are the biggest challenges at the moment for Wellis in the UK? David would like to expend the Wellis dealership by having 20 new distributors by the end of 2020. He would like to build a respected UK wide brand recognition which he believes Wellis deserves being the highest quality, premium, luxury spa manufacturer in Europe.

Good Luck David! And Welcome on Board!
